New year, New season, New episode, New address, New feed, New me.

We’re back after our extended summer holidays. As we were away for so long, we’ve called this “season 2”!

We now have some different (better) delivery options. We’re hosted at www.podbean.com – our address there is http://uer.podbean.com. You can get our RSS feed for your favourite podcast software there, or at the end of episode postings like this one that'll continue to be available here also. We should also be arriving, like a stale smell wafting in through the kitchen window, on iTunes soon.

Just some of the subjects covered in this edition are:

Crunchbang Linux  www.crunchbang.org
I3 Window Manager  https://i3wm.org/
Dirt-cheap Android phones  - Doogee http://www.doogeemobile.com/ and Cubot http://www.cubot.net

Andy’s favourite/most envied battlestations:

Hercules IBM mainframe emulation http://www.hercules-390.org/ … Required reading: Introduction to z/OS http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg246366.pdf (the RedBooks site holds huge amounts of documentation). And a fascinating way you can get software for it: http://www.cbttape.org/cbtfaq.htm

See you next time,
Andy & Wayne
